LAUTENSUITE BWV 995 J.S. Bach Guitar baroque tuning

With the help of this special Baroque Tuning, where the 1st and 3d strings are retuned to D4 and F#3 respectively, it´s possible to make much greater use of open strings and first position fingerings. These reduce the degree of technical difficulty enormously and so make this outstanding example of BACH´S work accessible to a far larger circle of players. Furthermore, the use of tablature helps the player get orientated more quickly. This tuning, developped by Walter Abt, is based on a B minor chord in the top four strings (D3-B-F#3-D2). This is similar to the lute, but a minor third lower. Wth a Capo in third position, you get the original key of the piece.
