This version of the pop evergreen BLACK MAGIC WOMAN, composed by Fleetwood Mac guitarist
Peter Green and made famous by Carlos Santana, is suitable for several applications: 1) for studying
Santana's melodious phrases, and 2) also as a solo version for acoustic guitar. The arrangement by Walter Abt
contains both the characteristic organ intro and the original choruses by Carlos Santana with
underlaying chords, as well as written-out improvisation suggestions. The fully written chord symbols
provide the basis for your own improvisations - the lyrics are optionally inserted as a vocal part. The
piece ends in a brilliant written-out chord play in the Phrygian and Aeolian mode of D minor.
