MOZART KV 467 II Andante GUITAR
Mozart on Guitar
Mozart's Piano Concerto K 467, Movement II Andante in F major is a masterpiece of timbre and
emotional depth, in which Mozart creates an almost floating, timeless piece that explores the
balance between solo instrument and orchestra in a unique way. It is famous for its delicate, dreamy
atmosphere, created by the melody of the violins played with mutes (con sordino) over a pulsating
triplet accompaniment by the orchestra and plucked basses, which create an almost endless melody
and radiate a deep, timeless calm.
The solo part of the piano has been completely arranged for guitar by Walter Abt. The original key of F major is
better played in E major on the guitar for a purely solo performance without orchestra. If you want to
play with backing tracks or with an orchestra, use the capo on the 1st fret.
