AIR Bach BWV 1068 PDF

"Air on the G String", also known as "Celebrated Air", is the second movement of Johann
Sebastian Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068. The entire piece can be
played on just the violin's lowest string (the G string, hence the name).
Walter Abt wrote various arrangements of this fantastic piece. There is a version for guitar
duo, another for guitar and orchestra, and for 4 guitars. The change to the original is a
kind of play-Bach for guitar: the chords are jazzed up, there are improvisations written out in
the arrangement for the individual parts, which the performer should of course personalise at
any time.
